Hey all! So I have a bit of a different kind of post today and that's because I just recorded a podcast episode! It's all about my thoughts on the movie Five Feet Apart and what can make or break a book to movie adaption.
So before I send you all on your way to listen to the episode, I should probably give you some backstory to the movie. Five Feet Apart is about seventeen-year-old Stella and her fight with cystic fibrosis. She is a YouTube and her days are full of routine, boundaries and self-control. All of this changes when she meets Will, another teenager fighting the same illness. They have an instant flirtation with each other, but there is one slight problem: they must stay, at least six feet apart or they could both die from infections in their lungs. As they get closer though, the temptation to throw the rules out the window only get stronger.
In this podcast, I interviewed my roommate, Sydney Fuentes, on what we liked and disliked about the film and also what even makes a good book-to-movie adaption. Sydney is a fellow student, but also a fellow movie nerd. She loves reading and studying movies just as much as I do.
So what do you guys think? What makes a good book-to-movie adaption? Do you have any favorites or least favorites? Let me know in the comments below. I hope you enjoy the episode and I'll talk to you guys soon!
